Marrakech is one of the top destinations in the world for those seeking a glamorous night on the town, fine dining, and being pampered in luxurious hotels and riads. But even with all this glitz and glamour, the city caters to families, too. You may be surprised to learn that there are numerous family-friendly hotels in Marrakech that offer everything from kid-friendly shows, to paddle boats, to indoor playgrounds. Here are six of the best.
Four Seasons Resort
This luxury resort is great for travelers seeking seclusion as well as families that want to spend most of their time inside the hotel walls. It’s one of the more relaxed hotels in Marrakech, making it perfect for families who want to spend time in nice weather without having to venture into the busy city. The swimming pool alone could entertain children for most of the trip, but there is also a game room for kids with foosball and a media center, along with programs available throughout the day. The large buffets offer kid-friendly meals throughout the day, too. Children under 18 stay for free in their parents’ room.
Pullman Marrakech Palmeraie Resort and Spa
If you head out of Marrakech towards the Atlas Mountains and the Palmeraie area, you’ll find things get a little quieter, a little more well kept, and a little more spacious. And it’s this type of area where the Pullman hotel is located — a massive 42-acre spread of rose gardens, orange trees and desert villas. This is one of those resorts where it seems more designed around kids than adults. So if you aren’t traveling with family, you might want to consider somewhere else, as most of the guests here will have a pack of kids with them in tow. Kids activities include a Moroccan folklore show, a large swimming pool, an animal farm, mini golf, a paddle boat area, trampolines, and more. There are also plenty of excursions to choose from like whitewater rafting that the hotel will set you up with.
Eden Andalou Hotel Waterpark and Spa
If you’re looking for a waterpark atmosphere built into a hotel, look no further than the Eden Andalou. The hotel has over 200 rooms and keeps a family-friendly atmosphere throughout the grounds. Most kids will probably want to stick by the large pool and waterpark that is full of slides and other recreational activities. If it gets too hot, there is an indoor arcade to cool off in the middle of the day. For parents that want to head out to the Medina, there is also a nursery for small kids with plenty of games to play. Traditional nightly shows throughout the week are also entertaining and involve the kids in dance activities.
Palmeraie Golf Palace and Resort
This hotel in the Palmeraie is more like a giant village than it is a typical hotel. Parents can enjoy a day out on the links while kids stay entertained in the numerous activities available throughout the day. There is also a mini club geared towards 4 to 12-year-olds that features a kid’s pool and several water fountains to play in. For kids over 8, there is a western themed paint ball course that is sure to get their adrenaline pumping. Palmeraie Golf Palace and Resort is definitely a bit of a hike from the Medina and most attractions in Marrakech, but a shuttle runs throughout the day to get you back and forth.
Sofitel Marrakech Lounge and Spa
While many people go to this hotel to luxuriate in its opulent confines, it’s also a great place for kids. It features a kid’s pool, games, scheduled activities, mini golf, and both indoor and outdoor playgrounds. There is also a small ‘manual go kart’ track in the front of the hotel where kids can race around in cars. The large buffet has plenty of options to satisfy the pickiest eaters. Your kids can also join in on the spa offerings, where they are sure to enjoy being pampered. If you can’t get a room at the Lounge and Spa, the Sofitel Palais Imperial next door is a bit more luxurious, but will also eat into the family budget. Either way, you have access to the majority of the complex at either one you stay at.
Sentido Kenzi Menara
Space is at a premium near the Medina, but that’s not the case at a resort like the Kenzi Menara Palace in the Agdal neighborhood. And for kids that might miss out on the medina experience, the property is a supersized complex of interconnecting riads, with rooms opening out onto courtyard gardens. The crowd at Kenzi Menara Palace is a mix of all-inclusive-package families and young Europeans looking to let loose, all of whom are likely to be found at the hotel’s main attraction: the pool deck. Other kid friendly amenities include a kid’s club with scheduled activities throughout the week, a volleyball court, another indoor pool with a kid’s area, and an archery course.
