Where To Party In Cape Town On New Year’s Eve

New Year’s Eve is one of the best times of the year to be in Cape Town. The weather is perfect, the city looks festive, and everybody is looking to have a good time. If you don’t already have plans for tonight, here are some of the best places in Cape Town to ring in the New Year.

For people who want to see fireworks, the V&A Waterfront is hosting its annual celebration. The celebration starts at 6:00 p.m. and ends at 2:00 a.m. There will be multiple fireworks shows at 9:00 p.m. and midnight. There will also be five different bands playing throughout the night. Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden is hosting its own New Year’s Celebration with an open air concert featuring  Jeremy Loops and Grassy Sparks. Guests can bring their blankets and sit out on the beautiful lawn while having a picnic. Those looking to seriously party down can join in the fun at Rezonance 2015. The event runs from December 31 to January 2 and features four music arenas for plenty of partying at Contemanskloof farm in Durbanville, just 30 minutes north of Cape Town. Richard’s is known for having one of the best New Year’s Eve celebrations in the city, and this year will be no exception. It is featuring a special edition of Kaapse Stories, along with live performances from the Richard’s jazz band, a Cape Carnival Procession, and a DJ spinning into 2016. Travelers staying in Camps Bay and not wanting to go far should stroll down to Grand Café and Beach Bar and take part in Pacha Ibiza. It is featuring a large dinner and an all-night party with several DJs, dancers and much more. Those looking to win big on New Year’s Eve should head to the Grand West Casino, where they will be hosting a New Year’s Eve Party called Kings, Queens and Divas. Shimmy Beach Club near the Cape Town waterfront is hosting another big New Year’s event this year, the Shimmy’s New Year’s Eve Extravaganza. Another hotel having a big shindig is the 12 Apostles, one of the most fabulous locations in the city. The hotel is having a James Bond themed New Year’s Eve party where everybody will be dressed in black and red. There’s also a five-course meal, dancing, and a champagne toast.
