Fierce air conditioning, quick and free Wi-Fi in clean comfortable surroundings makes this spot extremely popular with businessmen and women. Expect a laptop spread out on every table with a suited and booted office worker catching up on his lunch break, or groups of expats relaxing over coffee and a light meal. Food is strictly continental with an upmarket English breakfast option or waffles alongside the usual array of pizzas pastas and sandwiches. There is also amongst the best cake and pastry selections in Lagos with a range of fruit and cream tartes, crème patisseries croissants and pain aux chocolats. Whilst an Italian coffee machine serves excellent coffee for those looking for a decent caffeine fix. Parisian chic it is not, but it has a certain buzz and a truly international crowd. On my visit I spotted Nigerians, Americans, English, French and Lebanese and there is a comfortable thrum of conversation and laughter. In the evenings the restaurant and club on the first floor opens its doors. Sip Lounge has an upmarket feel and there is a selection of live music and Dj’s every night. Again it’s an extremely popular spot and the road outside is often blocked on Friday and Saturday nights as the Range Rovers and Mercedes of the Lagosian glitterati compete for the best parking spots. Doors stay open until the last person leaves, normally around 2am.
