To get here follow Murtala Muhammed Way in the direction of Tinapa. As you near the city limit look out for the large brown-fronted building marked simply ‘hotel’ on the left hand side. Once inside the hotel walk through the lobby, then exit the rear of the building. It’s really nothing more than the bar and restaurant that services the pool area.

That being said it’s a pleasant relaxing spot away from the traffic noise; ideal to sit back grab a beer and watch guests splash around in the pool. It comprises a good-sized courtyard with accommodation on opposite sides, a covered walkway on the third side and bar/restaurant on the last. Ferns and small palms ring the gardens whilst the swimming pool dominates the centre.

The restaurant has a full continental as well as Nigerian menu, including pork chops with mashed potato (N2200), steak and fries (N2450), beef stroganoff (N2100) and a range of pizzas, pastas, and salads (N1800-2200). The bar has DSTV and during the week screens re-runs of the Premiership games, and at weekends live matches. Wi-Fi is available via a voucher at reception.

It’s a spot which is mainly frequented by hotel guests and a smattering of local Nigerians, but there are also the occasional NGO staff looking to relax whilst back from sorties further afield, attracted by the setting and reasonable prices.
