Elmina Bay Resort is the perfect resting place for people seeking respite from the chaotic city life of Elmina. This striking hotel is secluded from urban hustle and bustle but not far away from the attractions that people want to see. It’s a short drive away from Elmina Castle and Cape Coast.

There are only 24 rooms, which means that guests can get personalized attention. The rooms have an earthy feel due to the neutral-toned décor. They also come equipped with satellite TV and balconies. The balconies aren’t completely private, so if you have neighbors who decide to sit outside you will be able to see them over the walls. However, depending on where your room is situated, you can gaze at the Atlantic ocean. If you don’t have an ocean view room then you’ll be staring at the palm trees and verdant greenery that lines the well-kept property. The wi-fi is spotty in the rooms, and works better in the main reception area.

I settled into this place after a day of exploring Elmina and didn’t plan to leave my room after realizing how tired I was, but at around 6:45pm I got a knock on my door from a staffer who wanted to know if I was interested in eating dinner. He informed me that dinner could be brought to me if I wanted. I chose to check out the on-site restaurant, but the option of being able to have that type of service is worth mentioning because it felt even more intimate than your standard room service.

There’s also a volley ball court on site, as well as a pool and beach access.
