Travel Tip Of The Day: Where To Go Shark Diving In Mozambique

South Africa isn’t the only place where you can go shark diving in Africa, Mozambique offers several places where shark lovers can get up close, too.

To start off, you probably won’t see great whites in Mozambique due to the warmer waters (but to many that is a good thing).

But the daring who venture into the waters of Mozambique are likely to see spinner sharks, leopard sharks, tiger sharks, bull sharks, hammerhead sharks, and gentle whale sharks.

Whether it’s in the Bazaruto Archipelago or just off the coast in Tofo Beach, here are a few of the best places to go shark diving in Mozambique.

One of the best places to go is at Ponta do Ouro (close to Aliwal Shore in South Africa) where you can see bull sharks, tiger sharks, and hammerheads.

Sharkbookings.com offers a package deal for qualified divers (minimum 25 dives) to get up close and personal with them. The total cost for a single diver is only R25,800 and includes multiple dives and 12 nights accommodation.

Another great option is to head to Tofo Beach near Inhamabane. The reefs here not only allow you to see sharks, but you can also see devil rays, dolphins, game fish, and sea turtles.

Scuba Addicts Diving Adventures offers a great package starting around R6,000 for five-night, eight-dive deals.

If you still want to see great whites and go to Mozambique, Scuba Mozambique offers a cool package where you get to see great whites in South Africa then see whale sharks and manta rays in Mozambique’s Bazaruto Archipelago.
