Sure, some of us like to try to cut corners, we won’t buy the insurance on an electronic gadget from the department store because we figure the risk of breaking it isn’t that high.
Fine, but renting a car is a different story. And this is Africa, not Iowa.
A lot can happen when you rent a car, many African streets (especially out in the country) have numerous potholes and livestock than can easily damage a car.
And if you’re going on a driving safari, animals have been known to flip (elephants) or jump on (baboons) cars when approached.
Our advice? Pay the little bit extra for the peace of mind and maybe skip out on the luxury rental and get that economy vehicle instead.
