I had the most amazing opportunity to stay the night at Crystal Towers, an amazing place which is part of the African Pride Hotels group. If I had to give you any advice it would be to put this on your list of things to do before you die. It’s a gorgeous hotel, with amazing staff and by far some of the best food I have ever had. They were just so incredibly attentive and we constantly felt spoilt and pampered. One of their restaurants is the Towers Restaurant where we enjoyed a wonderful three course meal as well as a buffet breakfast the next day.
For our starter I enjoyed a Goats Cheese starter which included smoked eggplant, balsamic reduction, tomato chutney, apricot and walnut. It was delicious and beautifully presented. My husband chose the Pork Belly which came with Balsamic lentils, celeriac, apple and mustard jam and horseradish jus.
As a main I chose the Venison which came with sweet potato, mange tout, asparagus, beetroot, baby carrots and venison jus. I could easily have this every night. My meat was so tender. My husband went for the Salmon main which came with asparagus, pea puree, yuzu and grapefruit chutney, edamame beans and orange gastrique. It was excellent.
We were so full that we decided to share dessert. We chose the Chocolate Mud Pie which came with granadilla, orange Swiss roll, chocolate fondant and vanilla ice cream. That fondant was to die for and I could easily eat this for a dessert every night.
The breakfast in the morning was a buffet and the selection was wide. I wished I could’ve stayed there one more night as there is so much that I missed just because I was too full.
A beautiful place and I would definitely recommend sleeping over for the full experience.
