Tango’s is a great neighbourhood restaurant in Diep River so I thought I’d try out one of the many weeknight specials. One of the best specials at Tango’s Grill and Seafood is the early dinner menu which states “Order before 7PM, out by 8PM”. You’ll find something for everyone at Tango’s including a great selection of wines, pizzas, seafood and grills. The atmosphere at Tango’s is very relaxed, making it great for almost any occasion and 100% family friendly.

For starters, I ordered the Feta and Herb Pizza Bread which was crunchy, crispy and great as a starter, but I would recommend sharing it between two or with the table. Lots of feta and a great, simple flavour, I would definitely have it again.

For mains, I ordered the Steak and Calamari Special, which came with a side portion of vegetables and chips. The deep fried calamari was tasty with a great batter, but unfortunately it was a bit tough. You can order your calamari grilled or fried but the fried option will go done well with kids and fans of good, golden calamari. As for the steak, I found it very average. It wasn’t cooked very well and it tasted as if I’d made it at home (and I’m not a very good cook).

I couldn’t stand to get dessert as the pizza someone at my table ordered had a very strange smell and on closer inspection we found the cheese was completely rancid. This was sure to put us off returning to Tango’s, but if you’re in the mood for good service, a relaxed atmosphere and great value for money, Tango’s has all that, just be prepared to wait and sacrifice quality for value.
