Sticky Fingers is a great local BBQ chain that offers some of the best burgers, chilli poppers, wings, shakes and ribs in town. In fact, their ribs were voted the “best in town” for a few years running. They have some great weekly specials including their most popular Monday night special where they make a Pork Rib Gatsby to die for. You can only enjoy this sucker on Mondays and for R100 it’s a delicious meal for four+ that is sure to fill up any belly. Everything main meal on the menu is served with chips and onion rings. They have branches in Observatory, town and Rondebosch, where I decided to try out some of their most famous dishes.
For starters, I had the Bacon and Cream Cheese Chilli Poppers served with BBQ sauce. I was excited to try the three big chilli poppers when they arrived and couldn’t believe how delicious the BBQ dipping sauce was. I order these bad boys every time I go to Sticky Fingers now and I would highly recommend them as a starter or with your meal.
For mains, I tried the Rib and Wings combo for the first time. The wings come in a variety of different bastings, I chose the BBQ but spicier options are available for thrill seekers. I ordered the half portion combo and it was more than enough for me, especially with the chilli poppers starter. The onion rings were golden and crispy and hard to beat, and so were the fries. I got 6 wings in my combo and they were juicy and definitely worth a trip to Sticky Fingers for wing lovers.
The great thing about Sticky Fingers is their value for money and incredibly tasty food. You really can’t lose at Sticky Fingers. To accompany my rich meal, I ordered a craft beer called Van Hunks Pumpkin Ale. It was the first time I tried a Pumpkin Ale and it was tasty and a pleasant surprise.
For dessert, I thought I’d try the Oreo Milkshake which was thick and served in a giant milkshake glass. It was topped with cream and I even had the choice of spiking my shake with some of Sticky Fingers alcoholic options. Yum, yum! I can’t wait to go back!
