This restaurant is located on Fourth Avenue in Parkhurst. It’s a lively little street where people sit at restaurants and enjoy cocktails, coffee and food on lazy weekend afternoons while watching people walk by. Rocket is buzzing with people and it packs the dining room and patio all day. Inside, Rocket is a relaxed but well-designed artsy and open restaurant. The vibe is young and hip, so expect to see a few young families and large groups of friends having lunch and drinks. It is obviously a popular place to meet up and hang out for a few hours during the afternoon, especially when the weather is nice. I should also mention that Rocket has a cool bar next door that offers the same vibe, with high tables in a smaller space where you can linger over drinks.

Let’s get into the food. I am going to say up front that I was unimpressed with my Cajun calamari salad. I even asked the server to describe it in more detail, which she did, so it wasn’t like I was uninformed. I watched some pretty appetizing plates go by and couldn’t help but feel disappointed. In the plight of food review honesty, I have to call a spade a spade, so I won’t gush over my food. However, the people at my table and around me had some tasty-looking dishes. There are tons of options on the menu as well so I am going to chalk this one up to making a bad decision on what to order, hey, it happens. I had a Grappa and a coffee which made up for it.

Regardless of my order, this place is a lot of fun and the vibe is awesome. Go to Rocket and have lunch and cocktails to partake in the cool afternoon Parkhurst scene.
