Primi Piatti is known throughout South Africa as a great place to grab a pizza, pasta or one of their great specials and enjoy a meal with family and friends. I visited the branch in Canal Walk to find out just how they compare and what this branch has to offer over the others. I was pleasantly surprised as my food was served extremely quickly even though the restaurant was very busy on a weeknight. The great thing about Primi Piatti is the variety of dishes on the menu and the great funky décor that adds a great atmosphere to the place. The staff are also friendly and you’ll also find a reliable meal at the Canal Walk. Warm complimentary bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil is served on arrival and the menu is packed with mouth-watering dishes to choose from.

For starters, I had the Halloumi Lettuce Wrap which consists of delicious grilled halloumi topped with a wonderfully tasty sweet and sour salsa on baby cos lettuce leafs with a yoghurt and feta dressing. The dressing and salsa were incredibly flavoursome and this simple starter really turned out to be something quite magical. I can’t wait to order this again!

For mains, I ordered the California Pizza with Chicken, Feta and Avocado. The authentic pizza base is unique to Primi Piatti and I really enjoyed the soft, crispy base. My large pizza was simple yet very satisfying and it’s something that I would definitely recommend at Primi Piatti.

For dessert, I enjoyed a Berry Cheesecake that was soft, fruity and came with a wonderful berry sauce and perfect portion for one person. I had to take some of my meal home because I couldn’t finish it all and I was so impressed with their takeaway boxes. All in all, Primi Piatti is a restaurant you can trust and I would especially recommend the Canal Walk branch.
