Peddlars On The Bend is in the heart of Constantia and offers great meals, excellent service and a wonderfully relaxed vibe all week long. It’s the place to be to watch all of your favourite sports games and enjoy one of their many beers on tap. The main restaurant is inside and offers a more upmarket and classy dining experience for those special occasions. Peddlars also serves a selection of their menu in the outside area which is fitted with heaters for winter and umbrellas for the summer months. There’s also a great indoor bar that opens up into the outside area.

I began my meal with a starter of fresh black mussels in a white wine sauce. I’m not a big fan of mussels as they can be quite unpleasant if not seasoned and cooked correctly. However, the mussel starter at peddlers is to die for any seafood fan. Loads of mussels cooked to perfection in a delicious sauce and served with French loaf.

For mains, I stuck with seafood and ordered the Patagonian calamari grilled in lemon and herb, but chili & garlic is also available. Although the menu stated tubes and tentacles, the meal was mainly made up of tubes with a big lack of tentacles. Even so, I thoroughly enjoyed my main meal and it made for a perfect, healthy weeknight meal. Served with thick cut fries and tartar sauce, you can’t go wrong with seafood at Peddlars.

For dessert, I ordered the “Pick Me Up” tiramisu with mascarpone and soaked in coffee. It was a great way to end the meal and definitely worth a try. If highly recommend Peddlars for any occasion as they serve a variety of great meals and a good dining experience. Also try their wonderful burgers, pastas, grills and the blue cheese and bacon fries.
