Today was one of those perfect Cape Town days. It was hot without being too hot and had a slight breeze without being windy. It was, therefore, a day for the beach. And so, my husband and I found ourselves strolling along Camps Bay and marvelling at just how beautiful it was. Camps Bay, a typical tourist spot, really is a tourist spot for a reason. It’s just absolutely beautiful. The problem is that most of the restaurants are a bit on the pricey side and just doesn’t suit us regular folk. The other problem was that we were getting hungry and I was aching for a good cup of coffee. So we walked up and down looking for a place that might suit our budget. This is when we happened across Mynt Café.

Mynt Café has a wonderful location and is situated in the heart of Camps Bay and only a road separated it from the beach. It’s obviously a very popular spot and the place was packed with no seating left outside. We were lucky enough to find a table inside which suited me fine as I wanted a table away from the heat to enjoy my coffee. We ordered a cappuccino and a glass of orange juice and chose the Breakfast Wrap to share. The coffee was delicious and very strong and the orange juice was freshly squeezed. The Breakfast Wrap came with scrambled free range eggs, bacon, Portobello mushrooms and spicy salsa. It was delicious but slightly small for the price. My eyes went huge as I noticed the guy at the table next to me who I assume had ordered the Morning After Breakfast. This was one of the biggest breakfasts I’ve ever seen so would highly recommend it if you are in the mood to indulge. It comes with rump steak, bacon, beef sausage, beans, potato rosti, Portobello mushrooms, cherry tomatoes and free range eggs. Wow.

Lovely place and the service was fantastic despite being so busy. Personally I wish they would fix the signage on the outside as the place looks far better inside than it does on the outside, but that’s just me being fussy. I’d definitely go back.
