Mezepoli is an open patio restaurant on the Melrose Arch plaza serving Greek style food and tapas. There are plenty of tables outside under a large canopy which makes this an ideal spot for a lunch or dinner on a sunny summer day. The scenery is quaint but popular, imagine a small open restaurant plaza with a slightly European feel next to a nice shopping district.
I went for a late lunch with friends and ordered a few small course over an hour or two, just lingering and enjoying the fresh air and good food. The food was good, not knock your socks off good, but basic good. The oysters were fresh, the dolmades were light and easy on the palate and the chicken was well cooked and not overly spiced. The portion size is what you would expect from tapas – although you can get full sized meals at Mezepoli. I recommend getting several things and passing the food around family style so that you don’t have to commit and you can try different things. This is another perfect place to go with friends and drink white wine and catch up for hours on a Saturday afternoon. The restaurant has a nice buzz and the owner was walking around chatting and greeting people which adds to the close knit vibe. Our service was prompt and attentive without being overly present or being too involved with what was happening at the table.
The food at Mezepoli is perfect for what it is, a cool and perfectly situated open restaurant that attracts groups of friends who want to relax and enjoy the scene.
