Mano A Mano on Park Road (just off Kloof Street) is a great place to enjoy a delicious meal in the summer months. They have a lovely, big outside sitting area covered by white umbrellas providing shade and protection from the wind. Their Italian menu has a great selection of pizzas, starters, salads, desserts and main meals that you’re sure to enjoy. The service at Mano A Mano is a real treat and the mature clientele add to the relaxed, upmarket atmosphere. Although it’s an upmarket restaurant in a hip part of town, the prices are very reasonable and you’ll find great value for money for the quality of food and service.

For starters, I enjoyed the Rocket, Avo and Parmesan salad which was out of the kitchen in a flash and came with a great tangy honey and mustard sauce drizzled on top. The salad was a mountain of rocket and chunky ingredients and is also available in a main meal portion.

For mains, I ordered the Bacon, Avo and Feta pizza which had a very thin base and smelt absolutely delicious. It tasted amazing and I was so happy I ordered it. The bacon and lovely and crispy and it was great to find fresh, ripe avo even though it’s out of season. My pizza was so good, the table next door asked the waiter what I was eating because they wanted to order the same thing.

Unfortunately when I got home, I realized that they had charged me for a bunch of food and drinks that I never ordered. More than half the bill was food that I didn’t eat or order and it was a costly mistake on the waiter behalf. When I called them to tell them they apologized for the mistake but no refund was offered!
