Harfield Village is always such a nice place to visit. Set in the heart of the Southern Suburbs, it offers a small but creative quirkiness to an otherwise normal area. Dotted with lots of restaurants and cafes you really do get a wide variety of places to suit your need. One of these places is Loco Lounge, created in December 2012, offering a very comfortable and laid-back feel. As their website says: ‘We wanted to create a little “home away from home” with creative dishes, hand-made authentic New York bagels, good coffee, really freshly squeezed juices, inventive and tantalizing cocktails, delicious tapas and food as organic, fresh, seasonal and preservative free as possible.’

I was immediately attracted to the place because of the vines that wrap itself up and around the building. I love nature and just looking at the building made me happy. So I decided to go in and have a look. They offer a downstairs, almost terrace like area, and then an upstairs, almost lounge like area. We went upstairs and ordered ourselves a cup of coffee. The waiter informed us that the barista was new and that he had been playing around with different blends and had come up with a winner. He was obviously very confident to tell us this before we had even tried it, and luckily he was right. It was delicious, and tasted like more.

I have never eaten at Loco Lounge before but they offer a day menu, tapas menu, evening menu and drinks menu. The friend I was with raved about the food and told me her favourite was the Philly cheese steak. The menu says this comes with caramelized red onion, truffle oil mushrooms, strips of beef topped with a double cheese sauce. Sounds so good.

They are closed on Mondays but open from Tuesday to Sunday from 8am to 10pm.
