Limnos is known for their cakes. They make the most beautiful-looking cakes and pastries, and they always have them on display in glass cabinets as you walk in. It’s definitely a place I would consider buying cake from. They are, however, also a restaurant, and today I decided to pop in and get some takeaway from their Claremont branch as I was off to a picnic.

I walked into a very quiet shop despite it being a Saturday and placed my order. I may have been one of the only people in the shop, but the food still took forever to arrive. I ordered some drinks, a bacon, avocado and feta Panini for my husband, and a toasted tomato, avocado and feta on brown ciabatta for myself. These both came with salads. We got the takeaway and headed off to our picnic to enjoy it. I laughed when I opened my box because they had given me an open sandwich despite the fact that it was put in a box as a takeaway. So by the time I opened it most of the food and fallen off the sandwich and into the box and I had to try recreate it myself. Luckily the meal was very nice, and we both received a very generous portion of feta.

The food was good but I’m not sure I’d be in a hurry to go again. When I was at the shop the only other person that was there was complaining about the slow service too. My meal was good but not amazing. I think if I was to go back it would be for the cakes!
