The Lime Tree Café in Bergvliet, Southern Suburbs serve some great food, coffee and baked goods and offer a relaxed, homely setting where locals can enjoy a good meal with friends and family, any time of the day. It’s also a very popular spot for takeaways and the pizza shop attached is a great place to grab a delicious pizza or enjoy a romantic date. They serve breakfast until 11:30am and although there’s not much atmosphere and service is average, if you’re in the area and you’re looking for somewhere to go with great, reliable food and delicious coffee and cake, The Lime Tree Café is a lovely option! They also sell a variety of deli goods, sweets, jams and confectionaries to take home with you.

For starters, I ordered the Deli Mezze Platter which was surprisingly great. You can choose 3 options between feta, olives, humus and artichokes. It’s served with bread, roasted vegetable chips and roasted tomatoes. The humus is lovely, light and homemade. The feta was soft and delicious and the olives were great quality. I would highly recommend their Deli Mezze Platter to share or enjoy as a light meal. Delicious!

For mains, I ordered the ABC Burger with avo, bacon, camembert cheese and rocket. When it arrived I was incredibly impressed by the size and presentation of my order. It was an amazing burger and I can’t wait to go back and try one of the other Gourmet Burgers on the menu. The meat patty was juicy and flavoursome and the burgers are served with shoestring fries that were irresistible!

I had to try a slice of cake before I left, so after a long hard think, I ordered the Lemon Meringue. I was served a big slice and it was lovely, light and sweet. There was a layer of chewy oats which I’ve never seen before in a Lemon Meringue but made it even better than the traditional one. The base was made from ginger biscuits and I must admit, this was the best Lemon Meringue I’ve ever tasted!
