There are few different Knead Bakery’s around Cape Town and the one I went to was the Palmyra Road branch which in my opinion is one of the best. Surrounded by wooden décor it has a very comfortable feel to it, it’s rustic and creative while still feeling homey. Probably the only bad thing I have to say about it is that the waiter was not very attentive and we waited ages for the bill despite asking him at least three times. It was a busy day though so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt (I’ve been a waitress, I know how it can get).
I was having a very busy day and I hadn’t had time for breakfast, which is very unlike me because it’s normally the first thing I think about when I wake up. Because of this I was extremely hungry and ordered the house salad as well as a grilled steak sandwich. I think my eyes were far bigger than my stomach because when both arrived I realised it looked like I was eating for two. The salad was a lot larger than I expected and was absolutely delicious. It came with a lot of butternut which I enjoyed. The steak sandwich was excellent and I could only manage half of it, the other half of which I enjoyed later on that day.
The restaurant offers both inside and outside seating, and when it gets too hot or too cold they put the awning down outside. I like the feel of the inside but I have sat before for a drink outside on a hot summer’s day and it was lovely. It’s a very relaxed place and because the menu is so diverse you can go often and never get bored of it. They also do a great cappuccino.
If you’re looking for a great bakery with a rustic vibe and delicious healthy food then this is the place.
