Kauai is a wonderful food chain located all around South Africa that offers some really cool, clean dishes that are healthy, tasty and totally different from anything else you’ll find in your local mall. Order at the counter and you’ll be served in the cool island style seating area of the restaurant. The Canal Walk restaurant is especially nice because of its updated décor and popularity with shoppers. Choose from a wide variety of wraps, sandwiches, salads, smoothies, vegetarian options and meaty Tex-Mex. They also have a great kids menu that inspires kids to eat healthier as well as freshly baked muffins and gluten-free bread alternatives.

I ordered the delicious looking Tex-Mex Chicken Salsa sandwich that’s filled with sautéed chicken breast, chipotle citrus marinade, roasted chipotle tomato salsa, fresh salsa and lettuce, served on a big whole-wheat roll. The chicken was tender and tasty and the salsa was absolutely delicious. Spicy, sweet and the perfect sandwich for a hungry shopper like me. I really enjoyed this sandwich and stopped some of their other Tex-Mex options like the Beef Bowl that also look incredibly tasty and delicious.

With my meal, I enjoyed a Super Fruit smoothie that aims at boosting your immune system and uplifting your spirits. The great thing about Kauai is their amazing fruity smoothies. Add a boost to your smoothie and fight off a cold or just balance your karma with a blast of protein and berries. My Super Fruit smoothie was made with low fat frozen yoghurt, blueberries, strawberries, goji berries and pomegranate juice. It’s cold, thick and does the trick on a hot summer’s day or when you’re feeling under the weather! I would recommend almost any Kauai branch but especially the one at Canal Walk!
