The Vineyard Hotel is nestled in the heart of leafy Newlands. It’s absolutely beautiful and one day I WILL go spend the night, or the weekend if possible! It’s gorgeous. They have four different restaurants to choose from and the one we went to today was The Garden Lounge which is situated outside in the most beautiful garden. It has mountain views, fountains and even a little garden trail for you to walk in. Even better are the tortoises that roam the gardens, completely used to being around humans. It’s all very pretty. I could easily imagine spending a long relaxing day here!

Today we popped in for lunch. Warren had a craving for sushi so he chose the 8 piece rainbow roll, the 4 piece salmon roses and the 4 piece smoked salmon, avocado and cream cheese roses. He loved it and said he could’ve easily had more. Admittedly it’s a bit on the pricey side, but you’re also paying for the beautiful venue so it’s to be expected. I had been carb-free for a while and had a craving for a simple sandwich so I chose the Hickory Ham on Rye which came with white cheddar and tomato. It was lovely. Just what I felt like.

One of the things I’d love to try is the Lady Anne’s Afternoon Tea. It’s served from 3.30pm – 5.30pm and they offer a selection of decadent treats! It’s the perfect place so I may just have to spoil myself one of these days.

Overall a lovely place for lunch and I will definitely return.
