Oh wow wow wow. We were invited to an event at this gorgeous restaurant in Gardens and I’m so glad I got the opportunity to go. I hadn’t heard of this place before, which seems a bit of a sin! Lovely restaurant, great staff and amazing attention to detail.
We were treated to a wine and food pairing and this is what we had:
    Starters:
Oysters with pineapple and red onion salsa paired with Villiera Starlight Brut NV
Parmesan asparagus crisps with garlic aioli paired with Peacan Stream Chenin Blanc
Beef carpaccio canapés paired with Cabernet Sauvignon
    Mains:
Moskonfeit bobotie Phyllo Pocket paid with Winery of Good Hope Bushvine Pinotage
Braised lamb shank in red wine sauce on garlic cauliflower mash paired with Bein Little Merlot
    Dessert:
Trio of dessert: rose terrine, choc brownie with ganache, sparkling wine jelly paired with Vondeling Sweet Carolyn.

I liked everything, but my favourite from all the dishes was the asparagus, the lamb shank and the chocolate brownie. The lamb shank had been cooked for hours and the meat was so soft and tender. The chocolate brownie was swimming in a cup of melted chocolate.
I left happy and satisfied and will definitely go back.
