Exclusive Books is by far one of my favourite shops of all time. I could spend a lot of money and a lot of time here. So when I found out they opened up their own coffee shop inside their V&A Waterfront store I knew I had to check it out. And it’s lovely. What coffee shop surrounded by books wouldn’t be lovely though? It’s a given.

You have the choice of sitting inside or outside. The inside has beautiful big Dr. Seuss quotes on the wall and the outside has the gorgeous view of the waterfront and a bookshelf of books too. We decided to sit outside as it was a beautiful summer day.

They have a nice looking menu and offer muffins, sandwiches, pastas, wraps etc. And, of course, they had an extensive coffee menu which is always a bonus. We were about to order our normal Americano and flat whites when we noticed two things on the menu we don’t often see. They were offering Chemex and V60 coffee. I enquired more about it but our waitress wasn’t entirely too sure. So she called the barista over. I must say even he didn’t explain too well and seemed like he was trying to get me to rather have something else. But we stood our ground and said we wanted to try it. After all, don’t put it on the menu if you don’t want to serve it. But when he arrived back at our table he was actually very nice and explained the whole process to us. It’s more of a drip process than the normal pressure machines and once the beans were ground he poured the hot water into the ‘contraptions’ at our table. The whole thing looked very scientific and lots of fun. The coffee was lovely. I definitely prefer a cappuccino or a strong Americano but it was still very nice and I enjoyed the whole process. I’m glad that they are getting in with the whole coffee culture and offering something a bit different than other places.

    I’ll definitely be back!
