Deer Park Café is a great place to catch a great meal and look over the beautiful mountains of Cape Town. The modern, yet simplistic restaurant opens up onto a big park where children can play in a safe area and dogs are welcome too. Sit inside the light and sunny restaurant or outside under umbrellas on the patio. Deer Park Café is great for kids and family and serves breakfast until 11:45. There’s a relaxed atmosphere, free Wi-Fi and friendly staff. They also serve fresh juices, ice cream, craft beer on tap and a selection of wines. There’s a cool kid’s menu and they have a selection of freshly baked cakes daily. Deer Park Café is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and serves good food and coffee.

I ordered the Chilli poppers stuffed with cream cheese and feta dipped in a beer batter and deep-fried. I was served 4 mini chilli poppers that were OK but the batter had already gone soft and chewy. I wouldn’t recommend these!

For lunch, I ordered the Chicken Sandwich with Grilled filleted chicken bread on toasted Turkish bread with whole grain mustard, gherkin and aioli. What an amazing sandwich! I was really impressed. The aioli was incredible and there was plenty of it. The chicken was tender and tasty and there was plenty of salad and gherkins. Yum! I would definitely go back for another sandwich like this. It was also a nice, big sandwich and looked delicious.

I also ordered the Chocolate Cake. It was moist and there was plenty of delicious chocolate-caramel icing. These guys know how to bake, and I would definitely recommend going to Deer Park Café for a cup of coffee and a slice of cake. You might even be tempted to grab a delicious Gourmet sandwich too while you’re at it!
