Located on the beautiful Nitida Wine Farm in Durbanville Hills, Cassia Restaurant is the perfect venue for weddings, special occasions and weekend brunch. The modern country-style venue looks out onto a stunning pond and over the vineyards of the wine farm. The upmarket décor makes this venue a great place for breakfast, brunch and dinner. I visited Cassia Restaurant for the first time on a Sunday morning and experience their breakfast menu that was highly impressive! Served from 09am until 11:30am every day, they offer a wide variety of breakfasts along with some kiddie’s options for the whole family.
For breakfast, I enjoyed a lovely freshly squeezed orange juice and their Croissant filled with smoked salmon and chive scrambled egg, crème fraiche and topped with loads of rocket. Cassia Restaurant is very well-priced and you wouldn’t expect it when looking at the classy décor and impressive natual surroundings. My croissant was absolutely delicious and the kind of breakfast you dream about on a weekend morning. The salmon was fresh, and the chive scrambled eggs went beautifully with the entire dish. If you’re not a fan of rocket, ask them to leave it on the side, but it does go very well with the salmon and eggs. The presentation was superb and even though this was just a simple breakfast, I felt like a million bucks and that’s what really counts when eating out at a great restaurant!
Before I left, I had a look at their lunch and dinner menu, and I can’t wait go back to try out their great dishes. They offer a wide variety of starters, main courses and desserts, and although the prices are a little more expensive, from what I’ve experienced at Cassia, it’ll be well worth it!

It’s not often we end up in the Durbanville area so I was excited to find a place in the nearby for dinner. A friend of mine lives nearby and suggested Cassia Restaurant which is part of the Nitida wine farm. We didn’t make a booking but thankfully they said they could squeeze us in only if we sat outside and if we ordered quickly. This was no problem. The outside is the best part. It’s set on a lake and has a lovely view and the weather was perfect. Also we were starving so ordering quickly was not an issue and I was eager to tuck into some food. We quickly ordered a class of wine and a glass of champagne while we looked through the menu.
I was interested in the pasta but my husband decided to go for the Wagyu burger and it sounded so nice that I followed suit. I didn’t want order envy after all. It came with a big portion of chips and the burger was topped with avocado mousse and Brie cheese.
It was delicious. The burger bun had some sort of Napolitano sauce which was amazing. I actually thought the burger was quite small, but with the fries and the salad it was a good sized meal. I saw the lady at the table next to me had ordered the pasta which I must say also looked delicious.
Overall the place was lovely. It’s a gorgeous setting and I’d love to come back during the day and maybe enjoy a nice lunch in the sun. You feel very secluded from the world so it makes for a nice date venue.
