This hip hamburger joint is located in a busy retail area just outside a banking district and is a great place to chill out and relax. The vibe and decor of the place are well thought out, and would easily fit in Brooklyn. It’s usually filled with a local young crowd along with a few businessmen that happen to be staying in the area. The restaurant’s mascot is a world traveling cow that completed a journey across the world to learn how to make the best burgers. You’ll find quirky references to him throughout the restaurant showing him in comic books, along with a large map of his adventures around the world.
The oversized menu features plenty of gourmet burgers that will have you salivating when trying to pick one out. If you don’t want beef, there are also several chicken, fish and cheese options. All burgers come with a heaping pile of thick-cut fries, and it’s recommended to pick a few of the house-made dipping sauces to go with them. There are also fresh juices, including ginger, strawberry banana and more to help wash it down.
For appetizers, we went with the cheese sticks and doigts de poulet (chicken fingers coated in corn flakes). The cheese sticks were huge, not overly greasy, and the quality of the mozzarella was melt-in-your-mouth meets the perfect firmness. The corn flake-coated chicken fingers were incredibly crunchy and would give any chicken finger place a run for its money. Seriously, if you’ve never had them prepared this way, you have to try it.
After indulging in some apps, I went with the Star Wars-themed Dark Burger that came with a dark bun, lettuce, tomato, and a delicious red sauce. The burger was thick, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The fries were huge and cooked perfectly, with just the right balance of crispness and warm potato inside. I went all out and tried all nine sauces to go with it — my favorites were the spicy aioli and the truffle mayo.
My friendly hostess Loubna recommended the house specialty for dessert, an incredible concoction known as the caramookie. It’s a monster glass of vanilla ice cream and chocolate chip cookies that’s drizzled with salted caramel and served on a plate with powdered sugar and an imported Carambar from France. This filling and gooey dessert is sure to exceed your calorie limits, but will satisfy your sweet tooth for the following week.
Throughout my entire dining experience, the service was top notch and the owner and waiters were extremely helpful in deciphering the menu and getting us everything we needed. The restaurant has another location, along with a new venture into the world of encased meats, Blend Dog.
You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better burger in Morocco, or anywhere for that matter, so do yourself a favor and check it out.
