2 Thai 4 is a festive place for a feast, if it’s open and you can find it – seriously, talk about hidden away. Tucked next to a few nondescript shops in a shopping center that’s perpendicular to the street, you would never know this place was here if it weren’t for the 10-foot-high sign on the brick wall in the back parking lot.

The spacious, multi-room dining area is by no means elegant — each wall is painted a different garish yet somehow charming color, and there are golden lions and dragons staring down at you from their respective perches. The wooden beams, bamboo-covered ceilings, round paper lanterns, Buddha masks and jumbo-size versions of the umbrellas you find in fruity cocktails do give it a vaguely Asian feeling. Outside is a covered deck, which was not getting much usage on the rainy night I went. I wisely chose to eat indoors, which features a combination of wide-open seating areas and tables crammed into little nooks and crannies along the walls.

The cater-to-everyone 10-page menu has all the classic Thai dishes. We tried the house speciality, Thai green curry with coconut milk and stir-fried vegetables, which was excellent. They really know hot to make the veggies crisp, and the sauce was scrumptious. The pad see yew was also tasty, but purists be warned — they did not use the traditional flat wide noodles, instead they used the narrow pad thai-style noodles.

Service was satisfactory, and the drink selection was wide-ranging. Not a bad place at at all. Just remember to bring your GPS to find it.
