It’s not often you get to work up a sweat in the sauna while watching cruise ships sail into one of the world’s most famous harbours. But in the 19th-floor Arabella spa at the Westin Cape Town, that’s just one of the attractions of a hotel that’s a firm favourite with corporate travellers.
After a busy day in the city – many of the major office towers are just a short taxi-ride away, and the international convention centre is a few steps away – the spa here may just be the best-kept hotel secret in Cape Town.
But it’s not only the spa – equally famous for its rim-flow pool – that has great views here.
Almost every one of the 483 rooms and suites offers fantastic city views thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows. They’re decorated in a modern style that might not be all that memorable, but certainly ticks all the mod-con boxes for business travellers. There are a handful of Westin WORKOUT® Rooms available, and fans of the Westin ‘Heavenly Bed’ will be glad to hear that they’re installed in every room here.
Before you get to sink into it though, there’s dinner. And for that you have a choice of restaurants. Thirty7 and the adjoining sushi bar are best for simply grabbing a quick bite after a long day, but if you’ve got clients to entertain the top-floor Westin Executive Club Restaurant is likely to impress with its fantastic views (I can’t say enough about those views!), a range of menus and above-average French-fusion food.
Leisure travellers may find themselves looking longingly down at the twinkling lights and prefer to be out exploring the Mother City, but corporate travellers who prioritise a convenient location, modern facilities, good restaurants and a predictable product will find themselves quite at home in the Westin Cape Town.
