Located in an enviable northern suburbs (Highlands) locale on Enterprise Road, this boutique property has a very posh five-star vibe. With just 16 rooms and suites, all set in separate boma-like environs in the manicured gardens, it has a very intimate, safari style atmosphere. All the abodes are completely unique, each decorated with a collection of antiquities and contemporary art from a different African country – I liked the Uganda and Seychelles suites for classic beauty, and the Moroccan suite for something slightly gaudier (but in a good way).

Beyond the rooms, there are sultry tropical gardens, which are filled with indigenous plants and flowers and offer plenty of space to stretch one’s legs, not to mention a lovely swimming pool, spa and championship golf course.

The restaurant is the best gourmet dining spot in the city – known for its delightful international menu — extracting rave reviews from locals and visitors alike. There is live music some nights at the restaurant, and should you want to go out, both the city center and the northern and eastern suburb restaurants are just a short taxi ride away.
