When I think about Egypt, beautiful beaches, amazing scuba diving spots, and gorgeous mountains aren’t the first thing that comes to mind. But the country has some of the most pristine and beautiful areas for diving and outdoor adventure in the world. Forget the desert and pyramids, here are 15 things to do in Sharm El Sheikh for a spectacular vacation.

1. Stay At Iberotel Palace

One of the most popular dives in the Red Sea, the reefs have a variety of bright corals, fish and the remains of a Cypriot freighter that sank in 1980. 9. Enjoy The Sunrise From Mount Sinai

Just 35km north of Sharm El Sheikh is this stunning area that contains natural ecosystems. The protected area has limited camel access and prohibits vehicles, making the area well-preserved.

13. Visit St. Catherine’s Monastery 

Built between 548 and 565, St. Catherine’s Monastery is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest Christian monasteries that is still being used. The city around the monastery is called Saint Katherine City and was named after the monastery.
