1. Amazing Food Markets
If you’re a foodie who loves food markets, then Finland is where you and your taste buds need to be. From fresh produce to ready to eat dishes, these markets have everything.

2. Summer Wooden Cabins
When in Finland, do as the Finnish do and go to a wooden cabin. Come summertime, head out to one of the amazing forests and spend some time in these beautiful cabins.

3. Wild Strawberries
Finland is a strawberry lovers dream destination. Like oranges in Florida or acorns in Texas, Finland has tiny wild strawberries that are edible and grow almost everywhere! You can pick it, wash it and pop it in your mouth for a free snack.

4. Helsinki
The largest and most beautiful place in Finland is Helsinki. The capital city is on the coastline of the Gulf of Finland and is home to a community of creatives, beautiful architecture and some of the best nightlife in the country.

5. You Can See The Northern Lights
If you head up to the north of Finland to an area called Lapland, you can see the Northern Lights! It makes for a perfect camping trip with four amazing forests in the Lapland area.

6. Beautiful Lakes
From Saimaa and Pielinen to Kulovesi and Puruvesi, Finland has some of the world’s most beautiful lakes. Rent a house boat and spend a few night cruising along Lake Inari or spend a day lounging on the shores of Lake Ladoga.

7. Korvapuusti
The Finnish version of a cinnamon roll, korvapuusti are just as delicious as the North American version. Small bakeries sell freshly baked ones everyday (they usually sell out in the morning) and they can be enjoyed with a cup of coffee on a cold morning. Can someone say yummy?

8. It Never Really Gets Dark
For two months in summer it doesn’t get dark in Finland. Night time is like a permanent “just after sunset” lighting situation which is super romantic and beautiful to watch.

9. Design District
In the heart of Helsinki is Finland’s Design District. You can spend hours browsing around various art galleries, taking in the amazing architecture and chilling at the dozens of cute cafes to enjoy a korvapuusti.

10. Crossing The Arctic Circle in Rovaniemi
While in Lapland, stop off at Rovaniemi and cross the Arctic Circle. There are only a couple places you can do this by land, and Finland’s Rovaniemi is one of them.

11. Seeing Reindeer In The Wild
If the beautiful landscapes, cute cabins and wild strawberries aren’t enough to convince you to head to Finland, then maybe seeing a reindeer in the wild will. These majestic animals will make you feel like you’re in a Christmas movie.

12. Gift From The Government
If you are a Finnish citizen and an expecting mother then you can expect an amazing gift from the government. It will include baby clothes, products and toys. How nice of the government.

13. Munkki
Finland will make you fat with korvapuusti and now munkki! This fried donut covered in sugar is delicious. Like korvapuusti, it’s made by many local bakeries and locals love it.

14. Santa Lives There
Yes it’s true, Santa Claus lives in Finland. If the reindeers and endless amount of snow didn’t give it away, then Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi might do the trick. The village has Santa’s house and is right by the Arctic Circle.
15. Winter Is Beautiful
Finland becomes a winter wonderland when December comes around. There is snow everywhere, lakes turn to ice, and forests turns white. Winter is one of the most beautiful times to visit this amazing country.
