You’re constantly on a different plane, in a foreign country, or visiting a new destination and living it up. You add dozens of new people a week on Facebook that you meet in foreign bars. You haven’t called your mom in three months. This is all super fun, but how much travel is too much? Here are 15 signs to let you know that you are traveling too much.
1. You Don’t Own Pets Or Plants
Your mom has got pretty sick of having to look after the cat you adopted and you’ve run out of friends to come over and water your plants while you’re travelling. So you’ve just given up on ever owning a pet or any plants.
2. You’re Up To Your Last Page In Your Passport
Your passport is used up to capacity and you’ve gone to immigration to get a new one, but you’re still travelling. So you using your current passport up to the very last page!
3. Sleeping In Your Own Bed Is Foreign
It’s not like you’ve forgotten your comfy bed back home, but you’re just not sure when last you’ve slept in it. It’s just a vague memory with no date attached to it.
4. You’ve Stopped Buying Gifts For Family Members On Every Trip
It’s just costing too much money to buy your family members gifts on each and every trip you go on. Plus there is no space on your parent’s refrigerator for another vacation destination magnet.
5. You’ve Stopped Buying Toiletries
Why buy toiletries when hotels give them to you for free? Your toiletry bag only has things that you specifically like, but soaps, shampoo, conditioner and toothpaste are not essentials. That goes for slippers, gowns and flip flops too.
6. You Live Out Of Your Suitcase At Home
You’re so use to living out of suitcase that when you get home you just keep on doing it. You know exactly where all you clothes are in the suitcase anyway, so why not.
7. Airport Staff Know You By Name
When you walk up to the check-in counter the airport staff know you by name. Even more impressive is if you know them by name too. I guess it has perks to know them when there are upgrades to first class available.
8. Everything You Own Is Travel Sized
For you, the smaller the product, the better. From your sunscreen to your mouth wash, everything is travel sized, 100ml and fits perfectly into your carry-on and check in luggage.
9. You Know Where The Best Wifi Is At Airports
You don’t only know where the best wifi is, but you know at what table to sit at to get the best service. Better yet, the staff know you (and your flight schedule) so that table is always waiting for you.
10. You Have Multiple Cities On Your Weather App
Your weather app has more than two cities on it. This helps you always know the weather of your next destination and you can start preparing for the weather for the destination after that.
11. Your Mom Has Stopped Bragging About Your Travels
Your mom doesn’t brag to her friends about the amazing travels you’re currently on. Her friends have also stopped asking where in the world you are and if you’ll be home for the next special occasion.
12. Your Out Of Office Is Consistently On
No one in your office remembers when you were last at your desk and how you get all of the time off to travel. And even though you’re checking emails from wherever you are, your out of office is consistently on.
13. You Start Most Stories With “When I Was In…”
Most of the stories that you have to tell or you can relate to start with “When I was in…”. It’s something that you can’t help and that line is usually followed by an amazing story.
14. Your Wallet Is Filled With More Than Two Currencies
You have the currency of the country you’ve just been too, the country that you’re going to and some currency from your home country. And you think that is normal.
15. Your Current Address Is Your Parents’ House
All your mail is sent to your parents’ address and they have a pile of mail just waiting for you to open. You also have all your online packages delivered to your folks.
