Two New Ways To Go Gorilla Trekking In East Africa

If you’re looking to see mountain gorillas in the wild, taking a trip to Africa is the only way to do it.

Mountain gorillas are the largest of the living primates and are only found in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Uganda.

With less than 1,000 of the amazing creatures left on the planet, now is a better time than ever to see them.

Topdeck Travel has just released two new trips that feature gorilla trekking along with other fun excursions in East Africa.

The trips include a six-day “Troop to the Gorillas” tour and a longer, 18-day package called “Mountain Gorillas to the Mara.”

The six-day trip starts in Kampala, Uganda and travels west to Queen Elizabeth National Park and then to Lake Bunyonyl for a glimpse of the mountain gorillas.

Other highlights of the trip include birdwatching at Queen Elizabeth National Park and chimpanzee spotting at Kyambura Gorge.

If you’re looking for something longer, the 18-day trip combines a trek through the highlands of Uganda to hang out with mountain gorillas, then heads south to the Maasai Mara to interact with a Maasai tribe.

Additional excursions on the longer trip include whitewater rafting in Jinja, and a stop in Nairobi to explore the city’s busy markets.
