Discover Great Eats At Nairobi Restaurant Week With The Help Of Uber

Foodies rejoice! The 2015 edition of Nairobi Restaurant Week is almost upon us, and that means serious eats at some of the best restaurants in the city.

As a bonus, Uber is offering free rides to and from restaurants throughout the week.

The event, which is in its second year now, runs for 10 days between January 22 and February 1, 2015.

More than 50 restaurants are participating in this year’s event, including many top spots like La Dolce Vita, Anghiti and The Carnivore Restaurant.

The cuisine on offer runs the gamut from Thai, Indian, barbecue, Italian, Portuguese, and of course, plenty of Kenyan and continental dishes.

Bookings aren’t needed, but it can be a good idea at some of the higher-profile restaurants.

To get around and chow down at all of the restaurants, Uber is coordinating its Nairobi launch with Restaurant Week, and as mentioned, will offer complimentary taxi rides throughout the week.

The promotion offers Uber users Kshs 2000 off two rides.

People wishing to use the promotion have to download the Uber app (on iOS, Android or Windows Phone) and enter the promo code NRW2015.

“I’m delighted that Uber recognises Restaurant Week as a suitable platform to test their service. Tens of thousand of diners visited participating restaurants in 2014 and we’re glad that we have been able to build on the success of last year’s event,” said Miluk Shah, EatOut CEO.

There are already 30 cars registered with Uber to serve the Nairobi market, and the company hopes to gain ground by partnering with the festival.
